I created the aesthetics of the book by combining embroidery and printmaking. I embroidered images relevant to each of the 42 chapters and combined them into full-page illustrations and endpapers.
The graphic designer added the numbers of chapters into the layout.
This is what the final single page illustrations looked like.
This is what the endpapers looked like in the end. I worked with felt that looked like a patchwork.
